Children Ministry

Children Ministry convenes on the second and the third Sunday of each month during Morning Service.  The attendance of the program ministers to children ranging from the ages of seven through thirteen.  While in children church, many activities and programs are being practiced to prepare them for regular service.  Activities that partake in children ministry include scripture readings, songs, Christian related videos and other related projects that focus on faith, temptations, courage and gratitude.  Children Ministry teaches the youth of the church the importance of tithing and owning their own Bible.

The following activities have been planned for the 2009 year:

• Ice skating or snow sledding in Valparaiso
• Black History presentation in the fellowship Hall
• Pastor anniversary presentation in the Fellowship Hall
• Easter Egg Hunt after church on Sunday, April 12
• Camping trip at Potato Creek
• Bake sale on June 21
• Great America Amusement Park Trip on July 31
• Children Ministry graduation to youth fellowship on September 13 in the Fellowship Hall
• Pumpkin patch trip October 30
• Circus trip in Hammond in November
• Christmas Caroling
• Christmas program

The Children Ministry will make a special effort to contact incarcerated members, alcohol & substance abuse victims, military personnel, sick and shut-in members, homeless members, and college students. 

We can always can use volunteers, especially the parents of the children we Sheppard.
